Modern food producing industries, along with government regulatory agencies, teach people to be so much afraid of bacteria naturally all over around us. They made sure all foods we eat are highly processed through pasteurization, only only for dairy products, but also for fruit juice, vegetable juice, etc. A good example is the recent California policy on raw milk .
Indeed through processing, they killed all germs, and prevented a tiny percent chance of people accidentally dying of bacteria infection. However, they have created foods which are DEPLETED OF LIVE NATURAL DIGESTIVE ENZYMES and other essential nutrients - the life force that is much more important! The trade off is either to have millions people who have degenerative diseases (lowered body enzyme potential resulting in inability to absorb nutrients, and a spoiled immune system which is so incapable of dealing with normal environmental bacteria) or bacteria infections (so insignificant compared to the rate of degenerative diseases). This makes us wonder, is the rationale really for food preservation, thus more profit, or for the true benefit of consumers? I hope our YBMers are smarter!
