Five ways to keep Alzheimer's away
(via edition.cnn.com)
由 dmitry 于 周五, 2008-11-21 09:42 提交。

Blanche Danick may be 86 years old, but she's pretty hip. She keeps up with all the latest health news, and a while back, she called her daughter wanting to know whether she should start taking the herb ginkgo biloba. She'd heard it might stave off Alzheimer's disease.

(via bodyfitwork.com)
由 sturm 于 周三, 2008-11-19 11:58 提交。

A friend of mine suggested me to write an article, to help housewives lose weight. After all I think housework is high enough activity to be treated as cardio training and helps burn fats.

Testosterone Restores Sex Drive in Postmenopausal Women
(via www.sportsgeezer.com)
由 shuli1 于 周日, 2008-11-09 21:49 提交。
Maybe, as suggested in a comment to this story, it's a relief for some older women not to be hounded by a sex partner. Geezer is not in a position to make that call. But Dr. Susan R. Davis, a professor of women's health at Monash University in Australia, seems to believe many women would prefer keep the fire burning. Davis is the lead author of a study indicating that, as she put it: "Testosterone administered by a skin patch significantly improves sexual well-being in postmenopausal women."

Study Shows Protein in Diet Should Be Based on Weight, Not Age
(via www.webmd.com)
由 Dr. BT 于 周日, 2008-11-09 21:40 提交。
As people age, their metabolism and physiology usually change. And these changes can influence a person's nutritional needs. Although many researchers believe that older adults require more protein than younger adults, it's not reflected in the current Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) and Estimated Average Requirement (EAR), which are the same for all healthy men and women aged 19 and older.
